About Me

Words are amazing things. They have held me fascinated since I was a child riding my bike delivering the “Auburn Street News”; a neighborhood paper I produced, edited and delivered for several years in the late 1960s. Since then I have had the honor to serve my country as a member of the United States Army, and have worked in a variety of occupations including paralegal, blogger, and Executive Director of a non-profit to name a few. In each, my thirst for working with the written word has only grown.

An avid reader, my favorite fiction genres are science fiction and science fiction fantasy, while the spiritual genre holds my primary non-fiction interest. Frank Herbert’s Dune and Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet are two of my favorite books. The act of creating – whether it is helping plants to come forth in the garden, writing, sewing, embroidering, or crafting; I enjoy the process of bringing something from an idea or seed into a physical reality. As an avid history buff, the fun and camaraderie of historical recreation were mine for over 20 years (medieval and mountain man).

For fun, I love riding around the back roads of western Montana and taking pictures of the beauty of nature we have been fortunate enough to see ourselves. Although we see some pretty amazing things right from home – moose, elk, deer, bear, beaver, coyote, rabbit, eagle, osprey, hawk and more! In summer, easy hikes and walks down by the pond are a great way to recharge, while in the winter there is nothing like strapping on the snowshoes or cross-country skis and stomping around a little! I can sometimes even hear the wolves on crisp nights in the winter when the snow glistens in the cold.
